Yes, you can register as an individual, create a team, join an existing team or register as a virtual participant if you are unable to attend. We encourage people to sign up as a team, as this seems to be more fun from what we have gathered from past participants, but we welcome individual walkers and virtual participants.
Yes! After you hit the ‘Complete Registration’ button, a new screen will give you an option at the top that says ‘register another person’. This will allow you to register additional walkers. Email addresses are not required for additional walkers, but preferred. This is ideal and preferred for registering your children who do not have their own email address.
Registering for the Walk is free, but each individual walker MUST raise $50 in order to participate in the walk; or your team needs to raise enough as a whole to cover each walker signed up ($50 x Number of Walkers on your team = Total fundraising dollars needed). Children under the age of 12 are free, but donations are appreciated.

Can’t make it? We would hate for you to miss the fun, but if for some reason you can’t attend, we appreciate your fundraising efforts on our behalf! Unfortunately, money raised is non-transferable. If you raised enough money to receive a fundraising incentive, $250+, this prize will be mailed to you upon redemption 60 days after the walk.
There is also the option to participate virtually if you are unable to attend or conditions do not permit us to have an event. To participate virtually, register online as a 'virtual participant'.
A. Prior to the walk, packets with your entry ticket, race number and t-shirt can be picked up in order to avoid the registration line the morning of. You MUST bring your ticket to the walk. Please do NOT forget your ticket as this is your entry into the event.

B. If you do not pick up your packet before the walk, please visit the registration tables located outside the main zoo entrance the morning of the event.
Yes, someone can pick up your packet if you have raised a minimum of $50 as of 11:45pm on Wednesday, April 20. However, you are responsible for getting your packet with the entry ticket from them before the walk, as this is your entry into the event. We will not be redistributing tickets that have already been picked up.
The 5K walk begins at 8:00am. Please allow yourself ample time to park, visit the registration table if necessary, and walk to the start line inside the zoo gates.
No. You are welcome to wear anything appropriate.
A. Strollers and wheelchairs are allowed.
B. Pets are not allowed at this event. Service animals are permitted.
C. Bicycles and Tricycles are not allowed, but strollers and wagons are welcome.
Event takes place rain or shine unless zoo determines it is unsafe to walk, and thank you for your donation!
Parking will be available free of charge in the Houston Zoo parking lot--6200 Hermann Park Drive Houston, TX 77030.
Yes! We take all forms of payment. Please remember everyone 12+ years of age must raise $50 to participate in the walk. Children under the age of 12 are free, although a $10 donation per child is appreciated. Please remember, everyone needs to be registered to walk regardless of age.

Fundraising prizes will be mailed upon redemption to the address you provided upon registering within 60 days after the event.
* If the event is cancelled for health, weather or safety reasons, we will treat your contribution as a donation to the agency. No refunds will be given and the event will not be rescheduled.
